Implementation period: 2023-06-01 - 2026-03-31
Type: National
Division: The Division of Mineral Resources Acquisition
Project number: GOSPOSTRATEG.IX-0016/22
The aim of the project is to develop a comprehensive management system for coal, from the deposit to the end consumer, with a perspective of 2050.
Main project effects: The development will include a description of significant factors determining the scale of demand for coal, considering both the existing fuel and energy structure, as well as future changes driven by legal and environmental regulations. The magnitude of coal demand will be verified in terms of the production capacity of mines, in conjunction with quantities defined in a dynamic resource database. A model for managing raw material flows in the ZMPW area will be developed, leading to the implementation of zero-waste coal production technology. The final product of the project will be the construction of a pilot system for dynamic demand management of coal with specified quality, production capabilities in mines based on their own resources, and coal distribution logistics.
The project is carried out by a consortium of three entities:
Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences
KOMAG Institute of Mining Technology,
Ministry of State Assets.
