Under the contract, a surface vibration monitoring system for the assessment of the impact of mining-induced shocks on the surface was installed. The measurement and interpretation methodologies were developed. In addition, a scale of vibration intensity adapted to the conditions prevailing at the Bogdanka coal mine, allowing to automatically qualify a given shock to the appropriate category of harmfulness, was also presented.
The Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences was the project leader.
