As part of the study, digital maps of the Quaternary bedrock, Cenozoic bedrock, and the thickness of Quaternary formations were created. Each map was prepared for one of the three selected potential locations of the nuclear power plant.
In addition, taking into account the economic importance of the potential investment and Polish, EU, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) legal acts, the analysis of legal problems related to geological surveys for the evaluation of the subsurface conditions at a nuclear power plant site was carried out.
The project was implemented in cooperation with the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute, the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, and the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences.
