Description
The report entitled “The Use and Role of Biomass in the Polish Power System” is a comprehensive assessment of the role of biomass in the National Power System (KSE) in the context of the ongoing energy transformation, the growing share of uncontrollable renewable energy sources, and regulatory changes resulting from, among other things, EU climate policy. The Report focuses on technical, economic, and legal analysis, covering the impact of biomass on system stability, energy balancing, and Poland’s energy security. A multi-variant scenario analysis was conducted as part of the Report, including:
The Report also considers risk factors related to feedstock quality, biomass availability, regulations, and the economic impact of a change in the energy mix. One of the key elements of the Report is an assessment of the potential of biomass as a controllable, stable, and dispatchable energy source.
