Promotion of the project ENTRANCES

To promote the  ENTRANCES project and develop good practices in the context of the successful and ambitious energy transition in coal and carbon-intensive regions, the researchers from the Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences participated in the meeting involved in the similar program funded within H2020. The meeting was on 7 December 2020. Its objective was to determine the opportunities for cooperation within the European projects implemented by Polish research teams.

Three projects implemented under the Horizon 2020 were presented at the meeting:

– ENergy TRANsitions from Coal and carbon: Effects on Societies led on the Polish side by Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences- The Division of Minerals and Energy Sustainable Development (Detailed information about the project and its partners can be found on the official project website https://entrancesproject.eu/).

– Tracer – Smart Strategies for the Transition in Coal Intensive Regions led on the Polish side by University of Agriculture in Krakow, Faculty of Forestry (Detailed information about the project and its partners can be found on the official project website https://tracer-h2020.eu/)

– Carbon Intensive Regions in Transition – Unravelling the Challenges of Structural Change led on the Polish side by WISEEUROPA – Warsaw Foundation Of Economic And European Studies Institute (Detailed information about the project and its partners can be found on the official project website https://coaltransitions.org/projects/cintran/)

The researchers presented the main objective of the projects, current state, and discussed the various aspects considered within the projects (e.g., social, environmental, and ecological). They also discussed their tasks executed within the projects.

In conclusion, the participants have planned a series of subsequent meetings to exchange knowledge, experience, and establish further cooperation development opportunities.
