Institute researchers in the prestigious group of 2% of the most influential scientists

Researchers from the Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences (IGSMiE PAS) are in the prestigious group of 2% of the most influential scientists in the world in terms of achievements in 2022. Among the Scientists from IGSMiE PAN were:

• Prof. Krzysztof Galos– Director IGSMiE PAN,
• Assoc. Prof. Marzena Smol – head of the Division of Biogenic Raw Materials IGSMiE PAS, member of the Polish Young Academy of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
• Prof. Radosław Tarkowski– head of the Division of Geotechnology IGSMiE PAS,

The ranking includes the names of 2% of scientists ranked on the basis of the adopted indicators for the evaluation of scientific achievements, such as: Hirsch index, number of citations, Impact Factor as well as the role and place on the list of authors. The list covered over 195 thousand. specialists from 22 disciplines divided into 176 more specific sub-disciplines. The ranking published in PLOS Biology by authors from Stanford University, Elsevier and SciTech Strategies presents a publicly available database that provides standardized information reflecting publication achievements. This is the 5th edition of the ranking (from 2019).
