This mitigation of the risk through financial instruments allows to lower the financial exposure of developers in case of failure to develop a geothermal reservoir.<\/p>\n<p>Until the first borehole has been drilled into the geothermal reservoir, developers cannot be sure about the exact parameters (temperature and flow rate) of the planned geothermal project. Once drilling has taken place, improved knowledge reduces the resource risk and make it possible to attract external capital.<\/p>\n<p>The GEORISK project works to establish such risk insurance all over Europe and in some key target third countries to cover the exploration phase and the first drilling.<\/p>\n<p>GEORISK Project key objectives<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitate the transition of existing insurance scheme in Europe (France, Germany, Turkey, Switzerland, Denmark, The Netherlands\u2026) according to the market maturity of the sector<\/li>\n<li>Replicate and promote the insurance scheme for target countries in Europe (Hungary, Poland, Greece, Belgium, Croatia, Slovenia\u2026)<\/li>\n<li>Adapt and present tools in Latin America (Chile and Mexico) and Africa (Kenya)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>GEORISK Project Partners:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>EGEC\u00a0(Coordinator)<\/li>\n<li>AFPG \u2013 Association Fran\u00e7aise des Professionnels de la G\u00e9othermie (France)<\/li>\n<li>BRGM \u2013 Bureau des Ressources G\u00e9ologiques et Mini\u00e8res (France)<\/li>\n<li>TUBITAK \u2013 Turkiye Bilimsel Ve Teknolojik Arastir Ma Kurumu (Turkey)<\/li>\n<li>JESDER \u2013 Jeotermal Elektrik Santral Yatirimcilari Dernegi (Turcja)<\/li>\n<li>Geothermal Express Ltd.
