KISD is established by the institutes Polish Academy of Sciences and two faculties of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Henryk Niewodnicza\u0144ski Institute of Nuclear Physics Polish Academy of Sciences,<\/li>\n<li>Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry Polish Academy of Sciences,<\/li>\n<li>Maj Institute of Pharmacology Polish Academy of Sciences,<\/li>\n<li>Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science Polish Academy of Sciences,<\/li>\n<li>Strata Mechanics Research Institute Polish Academy of Sciences,<\/li>\n<li>Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute Polish Academy of Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science AGH University of Science and Technology,<\/li>\n<li>Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics AGH University of Science and Technology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The current activities of KISD are managed and coordinated by the Director of the Doctoral School, and within a given Unit by the Deputy Director of the Doctoral School. The functioning of the Doctoral School in the field of teaching and research is supervised by the KISD Program Council, which is a collective opinion-forming body.<\/p>\n<p>The Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences\u00a0 is authorized to confer doctoral degrees in the field of engineering and technical sciences in the <strong>discipline of environmental engineering, mining and energy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the Program Council on behalf of IGSM MEERI PAS are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prof. D. Sc. Eng. Krzysztof Galos &#8211; Director of MEERI PAS,<\/li>\n<li>D. Sc. Marzena Smol &#8211; Deputy Director of the Doctoral School at MEERI PAS,<\/li>\n<li>D. Sc. Eugeniusz Sobczyk &#8211; representative of the Scientific Council of MEERI PAS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Education at KISD lasts from 6 to 8 semesters and ends with the submission of a doctoral dissertation. It is carried out through the implementation of an individual research program and an individual education program.
